    For film people:

If you are studying to be a director, actor/actress, director of photography, film editor, screenplay writer, etc.

I'm setting up a website in a week or so.

Ideally, it will be a community for students/hobbyists nation-wide. Aspiring directors, DP's, set designers, screenwriters, and actors will be able to collaborate with each other to create films that suit their own artistic vision and cinematic goals. This will be a non-profit site to encourage collaboration and the production of films. There are too many students who are wasting their time when they could be off shooting or acting in movie.

I'll have forums and ads where you can post your role (actor, director, DP, songwriter). You can exchange phone numbers with other students in the same area. In my opinion, this is the best way to assemble a closely knit, efficient, and serious movie crew. If you are serious about working in the film, please email me at dcho787@fastmail.fm. I will reply shortly with a link to the site.

If you are interested, please visit my journal for more information.

i ended up getting that powerbook.

// but i can't find a decent music player. i've got macamp and itunes, and i hate them both. are there any free programs, that run on osx, and are halfway decent? i used winamp and i loved it, but this macamp crap has gotta go. any suggestions?

// also, i'm looking for a batch audio converter. itunes ripped all of my cd's into m4a's and i'd rather use mp3's. i've got ogg drop x and sound converter, but i'm having probems with both. soundconverter wants money for large conversions and ogg drop keeps giving me errors.

//i'm not exactly sure what's wrong with my camera. i've got a trv-250. i was using it and suddenly a yellow eject icon appeared in the center of the lcd along with a high pitched, loud beep. i opened the case to let the tape eject itself, but it stopped halfway. the cage that holds the tape won't open and it won't move back in or out. any ideas? i'd like to do this myself rather than taking it to a shop. i could post a picture if it would help.

//also, i just started college and i'm getting a notebook/laptop next weekend. i'm going to use it mainly for school, but i still want to do a lot of work with media and editing. i've heard macs are best for media purposes but i need some opinions. what do you guys think would be best? i'm looking for something small, light, fast, big harddrive, and relatively cheap.

    any suggestions? opinions?

    thanks so much.

is anybody interested in buying my camera set up? it includes:

    -a sony dcr-trv 18 mini dv camera.
-all the accessories that it comes with(battery, strap, all the documents. i have the box itself)
-a sony NP-QM71 lithium battery with LED display. it has up to 590 minutes of life every charge.
-century optics mark II .3x 37mm ultra fisheye with a step up ring(30mm-37mm)
-2 bags, 1 lowepro bag (the name of the model is the digital res. 40 aw) for the camera itself and a tamrac bag (model name is MX5375 M.A.S.) for the lens.

everything is in very good condition. the camera itself is perfect, no flaws. the camera has some scratches but its not like i've dropped it or something. so is the lens.

i'm not sure about how much i'm going to sell it for but if you want to talk to me about it we can work things out. if you know people who are looking to buy a camera please tell them about this.

if you want to see pictures of the camera and the lens my screen name is creeprocksteady. IM me if you want.

    thanks alot.
